Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 & Vitpilen 401 will arrive in the Indian market in 2021. The company had started the production of the Husqvarna 401 model line in India at Bajaj’s factory in Chakan, Pune. Husqvarna’s current portfolio in the Indian market comprises of two models – the Svartpilen 250 and the Vitpilen 250.

The Husqvarna 401 series, which is already available for sale in the international markets, is based on the KTM 390 Duke. The Svartpilen 401 is a scrambler-style product while the Vitpilen 401 is a café-racer. Unlike the quarter-liter variants that are already available in the Indian market, the Husqvarna 401 motorcycles use wire-spoke wheels.

The 401 series is built around a trellis frame that’s bolted to a sub-frame. The feature list comprises of full-LED lighting, a digital instrument cluster, and a tyre hugger-mounted rear number plate. Mechanical specifications include a 373cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that’s derived from the KTM 390 Duke. The motor is tuned to produce 43bhp of power and 37Nm of torque and it comes mated to a six-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch.

Considering the aggressive pricing of the Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 and the Vitpilen 250, the 401 models, too, are expected to arrive with a competitive tag. The motorcycles will be sold through the revamped KTM dealerships across India.
